TeraGel
Ž
(T-200) Blue & AgroGel
Ž
(T-400) Blue
There are three important variables that are involved in the
application of a super absorbent polymer such as TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ. First, is the
crystal size for the prevailing soil condition. TeraGelŽ (T-200)
BlueŽ is
produced in three different particle sizes: TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ HG, a small
crystal size used for shallow root zones, flower beds, small container
plants, hanging baskets. TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ LL are larger crystals available
for compacted, harder soil, deeper root zones or earth with little top
soil; (TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ RD) a minute particle size under 60-200 microns,
primarily used as a root dip that significantly reduces transplant shock
during the transfer of plants and trees, as well as providing a medium
for seed germination or in the transporting of plants and trees.
The AgraGelŽ (T-400) Blue™
crystal formulation has been specifically engineered
for agricultural use. Among its features include 100% acrylamide free
resulting in a zero tolerance
toxicity level and a wide variety of crystal sizes that promote maximum
absorbency while increasing aeration and drainage. AgraGel
Ž
(T-400) F is a smaller crystal size is approximately 200 microns and is
primarily used in extremely sandy soil. AgraGel
Ž
(T-400) Micro has been developed for use on a variety of grain crops and
is less than 100 microns in size.
The second variable is the depth of application
of the super absorbent for the root systems of the plants in question.
Since the feeder rutiles in the root zone of most plants seek out
moisture at depths of two to eight inches (2"- 8"), TeraGelŽ
(T-200) BlueŽ should be
installed in this band range contingent on the particular root systems
in question. As an example, for grass it should be placed at two to four
inches For laying sod on top of soil, spread and till only the top two
inches. In agricultural, landscaping and horticultural applications the
crystals are always installed into the prospective root zone.
For established grass, plants and trees, see our
TeraFloŽ liquid polymer product.
The third variable is the quantity of application.
Soil conditions such as salinity, pH of the soil, degree of
sand, climate, as well as the crop or plant in question, are all factors
in determining the quantity to be used. In extreme hot or dry climate
conditions or with use in porous sandy soils approximately twenty-five
to fifty percent (25%-50%) more TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ crystals should be used. In
broadcast applications, dependent on crop and prevailing conditions, per acre
quantities will range from as little as fifteen pounds to
twenty pounds for short rooted plants (vegetables) to thirty to thirty
five pounds for long rooted plants (alfalfa) to two hundred and fifteen
pounds per acre for grass & turf..
Remember, a little goes a long way and once TeraGelŽ
(T-200) BlueŽ
crystals are installed they will remain 95% actively effective after
seven to ten years!

Combine TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ crystals and warm water to make a
pasty gravy-like mixture. Let stand for 45 minutes and adjust thickness
to ensure that the crystals adhere to the bare roots. Other water
soluble additives can now be added to the slurry mix. Dip roots into
hydrated mixture and plant seedling into amended soil by incorporating
dry crystals TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ HG into backfill and hole and then plant. One pound of
TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ will provide root dip treatment for approximately 12,000-15,000
plants. In field conditions, apply approximately 1 ˝ -2 oz. of hydrated
gel per seedling plant and cover over with soil.
TIP: Add rooting hormones or fertilizers to
hydrated mix to give plants a great jump start! Pesticides, herbicides
and insecticides can also be added to the hydrated mixture for their
specific added benefits including elimination of air borne toxicity.
Tree Transplanting: TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ LL
Application rate of approximately one ounce of
TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ per one foot diameter of root ball. Mix 1/2 throughout the
planting hole; mix remaining 1/2 with back fill. Do not amend top two
inches of back fill. Water liberally to activate polymer. Rate should be
increased by 50% per foot of root ball for very sandy soils. ˝ oz. / 4"-

Bulk Soil Amendment TeraGelŽ
(T-200) BlueŽ HG or
TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ LL
Mix 2 lbs/cubic yard or 1.2 oz./cubic foot. For sandy
or porous soil, increase quantity by 50%.
Note: 100 sq. ft. with a depth of six

Transporting of Trees/Shrubs/Plants
(TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ RD) or TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ HG
Dip smaller root balls into hydrated
TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ mixture
along with all appropriate additives prior to applying burlap cover.
With larger trees and shrubs spray onto root ball, apply burlap and
water.
Seed Germination (TeraGelŽ
(T-200) BlueŽ RD)
Thoroughly mix one-half pound
TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ (TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ RD) with
each 50 lbs. of seed prior to planting.
Alternative method: Using transplant mixture of one
pound of TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ with 25 gallons of warm water, place seeds into
mixture and cover slightly with hydrated mix. For best results after
germination, place seedlings into TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ amended soil.
AgraGelŽ (T-400) Blue™ AG
CROP GROWERS
Broadcast planting:
Amounts can range from 15 to thirty five (15 lbs -35
lbs.) pounds per acre dependent on crop and soil condition. Specific
crop use information is available upon request. Dispersing the TeraGelŽ
(T-200) BlueŽ
crystals is performed with a drop seeder or spreader which throws the
crystals in an even pattern over the intended growth area. In
poorer economic situations, disperse evenly, by hand if necessary, with
the use of a hand spreader.
After all the other ingredients are added, the soil
is then tilled under to the required potential feeder root depth and
then substantially irrigated at the initial watering to activate the
polymer or wait for rain.
A watering schedule can now be established by
extending the days between watering. The new watering schedule should
begin by adding one day to the normal watering cycle. Continue adding an
additional day between irrigations until the new cycle is determined.
Extending the watering cycle twice the previous schedule is not
uncommon. Since rapid absorption is another feature of the TeraGelŽ
(T-200) BlueŽ
polymer, (brief and lengthy) rainfalls may be added to the irrigation
cycle. Use of a simple hydrometer or tensiometer to measure moisture in
the root zone is a useful tool since subsurface moisture cannot be
easily observed.
Row or band installation: (AgraGelŽ (T-400)
Blue™ AG)
Dependent on crop, climate, soil condition, and
method of application, rates can vary from three to eight pounds (3 lbs
to 8 lbs) per acre. Installation can be performed using and insecticide
box. Fertilizers and other water soluble additives can be applied along
with the crystals. Replace soil and irrigate to activate the crystals.
For smaller gardens, a "pinch" of crystals is placed into the seed slot
along with a starter fertilizer and the seed or seedling and
covered over with soil. Water liberally to activate the crystals.
More accurate rates of application can be performed
by hydrating the crystals first and then applying the exact amount by
weight into the seed slot, usually 2 oz. per plant. In using row or band
planting, the plant and soil placement varies from season to season
therefore additional applications of TeraGelŽ (T-200) BlueŽ are required the following
year.
In the case of seedlings, they can be dipped into a
hydrated gel (slurry) containing all the other necessary additives for
that particular plant. These additives are added to the mixture after
hydration and given an opportunity to be absorbed.
This gel mixture can also be applied with a large
water tanker and should require no more than a 1/2" diameter nozzle for
application. A pre-set amount is then dispersed down the rows at a rate
of 2 oz per seedling. Setting up irrigation schedules should be followed
as previously stated for broadcast planting.
For detailed information on rates or methods for
specific crops call 1-888-383-7293.
