Silv-Cleanse

Used in drinking water as a biocide

Recommended for both personal and municipal water treatment.

SILV-Cleanse is an extremely cost effective, universally applicable sterilizing agent. It eliminates all pathogenic amoeba, bacteria, bio-films, fungi, virus, yeasts and molds without any side effects. SILV-Cleanse is comprised  of colloidal Silver (Ag+) renowned for its powerful oligodynamic and catalytic effect. It is combined with stabilizers to form a stable solution.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE of  SILV-Cleanse
1 mL per 40-60 liters for drinking water OR 30 mL/1200+ liters of water at 50 ppm.  At 250 ppm, 30 mL of Silv Cleanse will disinfect 6000 liters of water.

USEFUL AS:

  • Anti Septic
  • Astringent
  • Biocide
  • Bleaching Agent
  • Cleanser
  • Detergent.
  • Disinfectant
  • Pigment Degrader
  • Sterilizer.
  • UV Absorbent

DOSING IS DEPENDENT ON VARIOUS PARAMETERS:

  • Contact Time
  • Initial bacterial count
  • Material & nature of the surface
  • Nature of the microorganism
  • pH of the target
  • Presence of organic matter
  • Temperature
  • Thoroughness of water cleaning

SILV-Cleanse Acts effectively as a disinfectant in cases of:

  • Amoebae

  • Pseudorabies viruses (Aujeszky)
  • Sporogenesis
  • Vaccinal viruses
  • (F. Poxviridae)
  • Vibrio harveyi
  • Vibrio parahaemolytus
  • Viruses
  • VRE

World Health Organization recommends that silver in a colloidal state produced by electrolysis of silver electrodes in water as well as colloidal silver in water filtration for removal of bacteria are effective water disinfection methods for safe drinking water which can be adopted in developing countries.

SILVER: GENERAL DESCRIPTION – Identity:

Silver (CAS no. 7440-22-4) is present in silver compounds primarily in the oxidation state +1 and less frequently in the oxidation state +2.  A higher degree of oxidation is very rare.  The most important silver compounds from the point of view of drinking-water are silver nitrate (AgNO3, CAS no. 7761-88-8) and silver chloride (AgCl, CAS no. 7783-90-6).

Physicochemical properties
Property AgNO3 AgCl
Color White White, darkens when  exposed to light
Melting point (°C) 212 455
Water solubility at 25 °C (g/litre) 2150 0.00186

MODE OF ACTION

The active component in SILV-Cleanse is silver in 50 nano meter size. Silver is a completely stable carrier in this form of suspension.  Its stability has been tested in accelerated and long term studies and is known as an antibacterial agent.  Its nano particles can kill all kinds of bacteria in very low concentration (about 5 ppm).  It is also an antiviral and can fight against various kinds of viruses.  In the presence of air oxygen, it can produce free radicals, and these free radicals can effect and kill the micro organisms.

In the high aquatic environment like water without air oxygen, silver nano particles penetrate into the bacteria. In this case, silver can affect the disulfidic bands, between protein complexes.  Thus the 3-d form of protein changes and it cannot perform as an enzyme.  In case this happens in the bacterial cell wall, the selective permeability of cell wall changes, therefore, the bacteria swallows it and will be destroyed. If this process occurs in energy cycle enzymes, then, the production of ATP stops and the lack of energy will kill the microorganisms.

Water Facts

  • 5,000 children die every day from waterborne diseases.
  • About 2.6 billion people lack access to toilets and other forms of basic sanitation.
  • 1.8 million people die every day from diarrheal diseases. 90 percent of which are children under 5.
  • 5 percent of GDP in Africa is lost annually due to illness and death caused by dirty water and poor sanitation.
  • Over the past 10 years, diarrhea has killed more children than all armed conflicts in the past 60 years.
  • 200 liters of water per day are used by the average European.
  • 400 liters of water per day are used by the average North American.
  • 20 percent of the children in poor countries do not reach the age of 5 because of infectious diseases provoked by poor water quality.
  • 65 percent of deaths caused by diarrheal diseases could be reduced by the integrated approach of providing water, sanitation and hygiene.
  • 90 percent of water-related diseases are due to unsafe water supply, sanitation and hygiene and are mostly concentrated on children in developing countries.
  • $1 invested in sanitation can save between $3 and $34 in medical costs. lost productivity and saved time.
